Identifying the right part starts with the label on your Linear operator. Lift the cover and you will find a model sticker: LRA-450, LS-500, M3A, or similar. The serial number tells us the production year, which matters because Linear changed mounting-hole spacing on the LRA series in 2016. A bracket from a pre-2016 LRA will not line up on a newer unit without slotting the holes, and slotting is exactly the kind of field modification we do rather than leave you with a bracket that stresses the arm at an angle. On OEM versus aftermarket: Linear’s factory brackets are stamped steel with a powder coat that holds up reasonably well in Weatherford, but the aftermarket options we keep on the truck are 3/16-inch plate, which is thicker than OEM and welds cleaner when the original mount was never flat to begin with.
